President Biden has spoken out and vowed to stop Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race.
Days ago, Trump held a fiery rally in Iowa during which he told his supporters he was going to run for president again despite his historic defeat against Biden back in 2020 when he called the elections rigged.
Now, the 46th US President hinted at another run as he said he won’t change “anything” even though a recent exit poll revealed 73% of voters were not happy with the way the country is doing today.
In his speech, the president also praised his party for stopping the red wave from swooping over the Senate and House in midterm elections.
“Look, the predictions were and again, I’m not being critical of anybody that played the predictions. This is supposed to be a red wave. You talked about us losing 30 to 50 seats. It’s not going to happen,” he said.
Biden also hinted at running for president in 2024 as he said it would be fun to see GOP rivals Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump take on each other.
“All kidding aside, our intention is to run again,” he added.
“This is ultimately a family decision. We’ll have discussions about it. I don’t feel any hurry in one way or another to make that judgment. My guess is it’s next year we make that judgment.”
While more than two-thirds of Americans said they don’t want Biden to go for a second term, the president dismissed the exit poll results saying “watch me.”
During the press conference, Biden also brushed off concerns saying that Republicans might go after his family and investigate his son, Hunter Biden, should they take control both of the Senate and House. While the results haven’t been called yet, the Republicans are expected to win the majority of seats in the Senate and House.
“Lots of luck in your seniors year my coach used to say. The American public wants us to move on and get things done for them,” Biden said.
“I think the American people will look at that for what it is: almost comedy. But you know, I can’t control what they’re going to do. All I can do is continue to try to make life better for the American people.”
