Former US President Obama praised Joe Biden for passing on the baton to fellow Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
The event arose on Tuesday night, just a few weeks after he played a leading role in the behind-the-scenes incident of his pressure campaign to bury the current president’s re-election bid.
Obama gushed during his speech how Biden made the right decision and it came at the right time as the opposing party turned into a cult of a personality.
He added that the nation needed a leader ready to bring the people together and remain steady throughout the process. Similarly, he mentioned how they needed to be selfless to do some rare things in the world of politics.
Obama does not see Donald Trump as fit to be president again because according to Obama, a true leader puts his ambitions aside and thinks for the nation’s betterment.
Furthermore, Biden mentioned how history will always remember Biden as an outstanding president who defended the nation and the country’s democracy during a moment of danger. He concluded by stating that he was so proud of Biden and wished him well as he is also his dear friend.
