One author is sharing her solution to her obsessive-compulsive disorder by revealing how she allowed a bird to nest in her hair for three months.
Hannah Bourne-Taylor who hails from London revealed recently how her OCD was really getting to her. And to help solve the problem, she gave in and allowed a birth to nest in her hair for three whole months.
After moving to Ghana from London due to her husband’s job, she never knew her condition could take such a toll on her.
But in the end, it thankfully worked out and she is more than happy regarding the situation and the efforts she put in to achieve just that.
“It was a weird journey for me. There were days where I was simply fixated on removing insects from the pool”- she continued.
But with time, she saw a huge improvement in her mental health after she claims she rescued one baby bird.
The bird not only nested in her hair but also slept on the palms of her hand.
And for her, this was nothing less than brilliant therapy as she was allowed to calm herself with help from nature.
The entire experience is shared in a book called Fledgling which will soon be released tomorrow.
In that book, you’ll find plenty of offerings that stem from how the author soon became so obsessed that she felt that anything or everything undergoing suffering was her fault.
The author struggled with her condition for nearly five years and it’s safe to say that although the struggle may have been tough at the start, it definitely eased with time.
For a good 84 days, she took care of the bird and before she knew it, was back in the wild and she was normal too. Hence, it wouldn’t be wrong to see it as a win-win situation for all. Do you agree?
