Residents who reside in Los Angeles and have been impacted by the recent fires in Southern California were issued a quick notice about how diseases are spread through water supply lines.
This is why an urgent issue to boil tap water arose before consuming it for cooking and drinking.
On Wednesday, the LA Department for Water and Power shared a new statement about water alerts for the Pacific Palisades and adjacent communities.
This is located north of San Vincente Blvd due to a high level of ash, debris, and pressure changes.
Consumers were urged to follow the recommended guidelines to exercise extreme precautions, authorities explained. They also spoke about re-pressurizing the system to ensure quality control tests were being carried out.
The warning adds how there is a large figure of disease-causing organisms floating around entail viruses, parasites, and even bacteria.
This would be present inside the water and may result in drastic symptoms like nausea, cramps, and diarrhea with related headaches as well.
Other than the usual cooking and drinking activities, the residents would be encouraged to boil water supplies and also think twice about brushing their teeth and rinsing using regular tap water without boiling. The same goes for making ice cubes and preparing food like washing produce.
