Imane Khelif has hit out at her enemies of success and anyone who refused to believe that she was a woman after winning the Olympic gold amid the gender row in Paris.
Khelif ended up coming out victorious against her Chinese opponent Yang Liu at last night’s welterweight tournament in Paris.
She is Algeria’s first female to ever win the gold medal in the game of boxing.
The 25-year-old was reportedly disqualified from the International Boxing Association Women’s World Championships for failing her gender eligibility tests.
Her testosterone levels were declared to be too high as compared to others and therefore the selectors felt that it would give her an unfair advantage in the competition.
The boxer still managed to come back stronger than ever and has hit out at her critics. In her defiant speech, she spoke about how she was born a woman, raised a woman, and has always fought as a woman. Hence, she requested the world to stop targeting and bullying her for no reason.
Since then, she’s been getting praise from all over the world as many who once doubted her are rolling out public apologies as they hail her victorious over all others in the tournament.
