A 79-year-old man is shedding light upon a heartbreaking reality that he was forced to endure after his botched surgery.
The pensioner explained how he was left with a disability that left him unable to shut his eyes for three whole years. And that’s because the surgery he underwent didn’t exactly turn out the way he or doctors had planned.
Now, Pete Broadhurst is putting forward the heartbreaking reality that he has to face on a daily basis and that includes taping his eyes shut to sleep.
In 2019, Pete claims he was left with no choice but to undergo the surgical procedure to help rid his insecurities about his appearance. And it’s all thanks to his wife, who reportedly referred to him as ‘ugly.’
Excited as ever for his new look, little did he know about the consequences of the procedure that left him with the inability to close his eyes.
The procedure did not come cheap, not to mention the pain and swelling alongside the hefty price tag attached.
Moreover, it comprised of nine long hours and consisted of a neck lift, rhinoplasty, and an under-eye blepharoplasty too.
While the corrective cosmetic surgeries may appear as if they’re tiny and harmless, that was far from the reality of the matter. The entire event cost Pete a staggering 11,000 pounds. And despite the fact that he’s gotten them done three years back and learned to live life the new way, the fact that he still can’t fully close his left eye really bothers him.
Reports claim that the surgeon who performed the procedure has now refused to comment on the matter.
“I just felt so insecure about my looks. And I thought that was the reason behind most of my broken relationships. But little did I know about what was in store,” he explained.
“It scares me sometimes too that my eyes stay open when I want to shut them,” he added. “Many told me to look in the mirror because they didn’t like the way I appear so that’s why I had the surgeries done. But I had no idea that I’d end up like this,” he concluded.
