Controversial boxing star Imane Khelif has just stormed into the finals of the boxing category at this year’s Paris Olympics.
The gender-row athlete has been subjected to a lot of hate and criticism from all over the globe. Many accused her of being a man who was allowed to compete as a woman in the competition.
Meanwhile, the International Boxing Association also stepped in to claim that she failed her gender identity tests due to high testosterone levels and therefore had to be disqualified.
The Olympic committee rubbished all of these claims and mentioned how they had scrutinized every athlete and found nothing of the sort.
Despite Imane going through so much, she’s managed to enter the finals and will now compete to get the gold medal for her country Algeria.
While she might not have gotten a lot of love and support before, many are now rooting for her as she marched her way into the semi-final to beat her Thai opponent, fair and square.
The star says she’s aiming for gold and by the Grace of God, she will attain it because she’s worked so hard for this day that she recalls as her dream.
