The young boy who mysteriously disappeared following a bad day at school has been found alive and well.
A massive search for 11-year-old Christopher Wilson was initiated on Wednesday after the boy vanished somewhere on his way home from his school in Annangrove, Australia.
While everyone feared the worst, the boy has since been found and the police have arranged a reunion with his parents who waited 15 hours for the good news.
According to the reports, Christopher spent the night outside in temperatures reaching as low as 4°C or 39°F. He was found on Thursday at around 9.30 am after he was spotted by a passerby near Joylyn Road in Annangrove.
“He was assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and despite being out in the cold all night, he had no visible injuries,” the NSW police said.
While the police have yet to reveal more details about the boy’s disappearance and the circumstances leading to his vanishing, it is believed the 11-year-old had a “bad day at school” on Wednesday.
“His family are extremely distressed, particularly as the temperatures overnight have been quite cold. They’ve had a really rough night and have been out looking overnight,” Superintendent Darrin Batchelor said on Thursday morning.
He also revealed the parents called the police immediately after Christopher failed to come back home. They then spent an entire night looking for their son along with the search crews.
As of this writing, the disappearance remains under investigation. Though Christopher’s actions were reportedly out of character, the police do not suspect that foul play was involved.
