BREAKING: Britney Spears’ Father, Jamie, Is In ‘Terrible’ Condition After Medical Emergency


Jamie Spears, the father of Britney Spears, is reportedly “not doing well” after suffering a life-threatening medical emergency.

The 71-year-old, who was stuck in a long feud with his celeb daughter over her conservatorship, had one of his legs amputated after a severe infection and five unsuccessful operations to contain its spread.

“Jamie had a massive infection in one of his legs that landed him in a hospital for weeks,” TMZ reported.

“He had 5 unsuccessful surgeries to contain the infection, and doctors decided the only way to proceed was amputation.”

The publication also revealed that Jamie is not in good condition and that he has already spent several weeks in hospital.

While the highly publicized battle between Jamie and Britney hinted at the complete end of their already damaged relationship, it is believed that reconciliation is not yet entirely out of the picture.

It is said that Jamie holds no grudge against his daughter after her decision to fight back at her conservatorship and win back her rights. Meanwhile, Britney is said to miss her father despite accusing him of controlling and coercive behavior in her memoir.

Besides his battle with infection, Jamie has faced a number of other health problems amid his battle with alcoholism.

“He’s had other ailments and has been downcast amid the torrent of criticism over his handling of the conservatorship … something he thinks is terribly unfair,” the site reported.

“Jamie is the one who moved from Louisiana to care for his daughter back in 2007. Lots of people who were involved back then say Jamie may have saved Britney’s life.”
