Britney Spears was reunited with her estranged mother, Lynne, on her 42nd birthday after the pair’s long and explosive feud.
Letting bygones be bygones, the Toxic hitmaker appeared to forget all about the rift between her and her mother as she embraced her on Friday night to celebrate her birthday.
In a heartwarming picture shared by hair colorist Baihly B on her Instagram account, Lynne and Britney are seen lying on the couch with the singer resting her head on her mother’s chest.
In the photo, Spears appears to be hugging a plush toy as her mother is cradling her hair to comfort her.
“Happy birthday to you @britneyspears I am so happy you and your momma are together at last,” the caption read.
“Here’s to healing and a life of happiness, freedom, and bonds that will never be broken.”
The hair colorist also shared another photo in which Britney is seen carrying her mother in her arms while sporting her signature black shades and a smile on her face.
“I’ve got news for you. Girls just want to have fun,” the text on the photo read.
The sweet moment comes after Lynne and Britney’s fallout as a result of the family’s feud over the singer’s 13-year conservatorship.
Britney previously accused her estranged mother of doing nothing to free her from the conservatorship or save her from her “controlling” father Jamie Spears.
She also accused her mother of removing her childhood journals and toys, leaving Lynne forced to deny that she sold the private items. In response, Britney eventually admitted she found some of the missing items at her mother’s home while suggesting the latter may have returned or replaced them, albeit too late.
