In the snap taken in Brussels, the rockstar was seen wearing a grey jumper over a white shirt and a pair of round black glasses.

After the picture went viral, fans and critics alike were quick to point out that the Born to Run hitmaker changed drastically in the last year.

Others went as far as comparing the 72-year-old musician to 86-year-old director Woody Allen.

“In case you still refuse to feel old – Bruce Springsteen now looks like Woody Allen,” one person joked.

“The photo of Bruce Springsteen looking like Woody Allen is the craziest thing I’ve seen on Twitter since the dress,” another said while referring to an optical illusion featuring a gold/blue dress.

The third suggested: “I would not have known that was Bruce if his name wasn’t mentioned.”

Plenty of people, however, rushed to the singer’s aid and said he appears to be in great condition for a 72-year-old man.

“I am no Springsteen fan, but we all get old (if we’re lucky). He looks good for 72,” someone added.

Another said: “If yall gonna look like him when you’re 72 count yourself lucky.”

The selfie comes after the rockstar came under fire when his fans learned they would have to pay up to $5,000 a ticket to attend his US tour concerts next season.

With the least desirable seats costing upward of $1,000, plenty of working-class fans lashed out at the singer and accused him of steering away from his original notion.

Others also lashed out at Ticketmaster who claimed that they base the prices of platinum tickets on the ongoing demand.

“Platinum tickets are being sold for the very first time through Ticketmaster. The prices are adjusted according to supply and demand, similar to how airline tickets and hotel rooms are sold,” the company explained.

“The goal is to give the most passionate fans fair and safe access to the most in-demand tickets while allowing the artists and everyone involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their fair value.”
