Bruce Willis’ daughter has spoken out and revealed what role her father had played in the naming of her baby girl.
Rumer Willis, 35, recently welcomed a baby girl named Louetta Isley together with her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas.
Now, the young actress explained that her 8-month-old daughter’s name is a “mix of things” that she and her legendary dad love.
“I have always loved the name Lou, so was thinking of that for both a boy or a girl, but then, when we found out she was a girl we came up with Louetta,” she explained.
“We wanted to give her options and me and my dad’s favorite singers are Lou = Louie Armstrong, Etta = Etta James, Isley = Isley Brothers.”
During her Tuesday morning Q&A session on Instagram, Rumer also opened up about motherhood and admitted she wanted five or six kids in the future.
“Every moment with her is amazing, but when she smiles at me it’s the best feeling in the world,” she said.
The heartwarming reveal comes nearly two years after Bruce’s family announced the actor was diagnosed with aphasia. Since then, the condition has progressed into frontotemporal dementia, a condition that results in behavioral changes, issues with communication, lack of judgment, and loss of interpersonal skills.
More recently, Moonlighting creator Glenn Gordon Caron, who is also a close friend of the Die Hard star, told PageSix that the 68-year-old was no longer fully verbal.
“My sense is the first one to three minutes he knows who I am. He’s not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader – he didn’t want anyone to know that – and he’s not reading now,” he said.
“When you’re with him you know that he’s Bruce and you’re grateful that he’s there, but the joie de vivre is gone.”
