The US astronauts stranded on the ISS were finally able to enjoy a welcome back home, after being stuck in space for nine months.

The duo were seen joyfully emerging from their rescue capsule following the dramatic but very smooth return to earth on Tuesday.

The news comes after months after their days-long journey that turned into a headline-grabbing space odyssey.

Obviously, staying in space for so long means it will take them a lot of time to get back on their feet and return to some kind of normalcy.

This is why without wasting much time, they were rushed inside emergency vehicles to a nearby medical facility.

This is where it was shared how they would be undergoing some serious rehab therapy for months to get back to their daily life and routine schedule.

Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams splashed down off the coast of Florida’s Tallahassee aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule.

This was right before the clock struck 6 pm on Tuesday. Clearly, a lot of credit goes to Elon Musk’s SpaceX which collaborated with NASA to make this impossible mission a reality.

Less than one hour later, the duo were seen beaming and waving and pumping their fists in the air as they were helped to their feet and wished away in wheelchairs.

The dramatic return started in space at about 1 am on Tuesday and nearly 17 hours later, they were seen touching down after coming into view. Dolphins surrounded them in the water as many were glued to their screens to watch this historic event unfold.
