Shocking reports are speaking about a terrifying incident that arose at a French Ski Resort called Val Thorens recently.
According to reports from local media outlets, several people were injured after their cable car malfunctioned.
The incident took place at Europe’s popular and highest ski resort, just as the festive winter season began.
The location is known for being very popular with tourists so to hear the news left many stunned.
More details published by a local media outlet in France revealed how the workers has prepped for the upcoming ski season and the weather was certainly very challenging. Still, despite the forecast, the cable car was still given clearance to function normally.
One victim involved in the devastating incident explained how the cabin began braking and decelerating which was not the usual case.
While she was unharmed, others did get seriously injured including some that she saw before her own eyes. ‘All of a sudden, we began to fly towards the front of the cabin. People slammed into safety bars and the impact that arose was very violent’- she continued to explain.
Air ambulances rushed to the scene to assist those that needed immediate medical attention and more than 120 firefighters also made their way to the scene.
Thankfully, none of the injured are said to be battling life-threatening injuries but the resort is currently closed as workers are traveling up the slope on lifts that are operated manually.
