Just when you thought you had seen it all comes some awfully striking news related to canceling culture and the world of emojis.
According to reports from local media outlets, cancel culture is taking center stage and it has officially come out to get the world of social media platforms.
The famous thumbs-up emoji is getting called out as hostile and rude by members of Gen Z who feel the time has come to have it eliminated forever.
Many called the emoji out and said they feel attacked and upset whenever it’s getting used or even sent out to them at the workplace.
The news comes after one Reddit user went public in regards to how he does not feel comfortable with it being used. Moreover, he added that maybe he was not adult enough to understand or relate to the comfortable feeling that the thumbs-up button comes up with.
And that’s when a lot of others jumped him to take his side. They agreed with him completely and vowed to start a new movement that would reportedly call the emoji out and perhaps allow for a ban.
But that’s not the only common emoji being questioned. Others include the likes of the red heart, which again, many felt uncomfortable with its use and how commonly it was sent out by users on different social media platforms.
Another Redditor felt that the vibes that such emojis end up giving is just so passive and aggressive. And it’s getting awfully hard to adjust to it as a norm in society.
