Tributes have poured in for Diondre Overton who is a two-time national champion and football star.
His shocking death at the age of 26 has not only left his family in shock but fans.
The football team announced his tragic death on Saturday right before the game began against the Appalachian State.
The post read, ‘Clemson Football and the entire Clemson Family mourns the passing of Clemson alumnus Diondre Overton’.
‘Our thoughts are with his loved ones and family members’- the post concluded. Overton was known for playing the role of wide receiver for the team from the years 2016 to 2019 and won two national championships.
His achievements included catching 52 career passes for 777 yards. So far, no cause of death has been announced.
In the wake of the news of his tragic passing away, several of his teammates also took to their accounts on social media to share tributes related to their close teammates and friends.
Another team member wrote how ‘life is not fair’ and another said ‘it’s so important to tell your loved ones you love them because you never know what could happen next.’
