Cher has reportedly teamed up with her son Chaz Bono to co-produce a horror movie.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the 77-year-old singer and Oscar winner will executive produce the movie Little Bites along with her 54-year-old writer/actor son.
The script for the horror movie was written by the Powerman 5000 frontman Spider One who will also be directing the movie.
Spider One previously wrote and directed Bury the Bride, a hit horror movie executive produced by Bono.
Chaz, who is a big fan of horror films, previously opened up about his love for spooky things saying he loved horror movies as a kid.
“The first horror-adjacent, horror comedy that I saw as a kid that I fell in love with was Young Frankenstein. That was kind of my gateway as a young person,” he said in an interview with Pink News.
“Horror has always been slightly marginalized as a genre. I think it’s that outsider status of the horror movie, the horror fan – it’s very similar. LGBTQI people just gravitate to horror.”
The trans advocate, who underwent a female-to-male transition between 2008 and 2010, continued:
“I can only speak for myself, but I do think that the storytelling opportunities, the opportunities to play the different types of characters, the intensity of it – I think it’s just something that we can relate to in a different way.
“I really enjoy playing off beat, slightly suspect or downright horrible characters. That’s really what’s fun for me as an actor.”
The news comes as Cher braces for the release of her Deluxe Edition of the 1995 album A Man’s World.
“The Deluxe Set Contains The Newly Remastered Record And A Selection Of Rare Remixes On Physical And Digital Formats (4LP & 2CD),” the ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ hitmaker wrote as she announced the happy news.
“The Limited-Edition LP Box – With The Album’s First-Ever Vinyl Pressing – Includes 4 LPs On Red, Blue, Green & Yellow Vinyl Plus Two Exclusive, Numbered Lithographs For Retail And Cher’s Webstore Respectively.”
