Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles are facing the heat for bowing down at the Olympics floor final podium.
The athletes were unable to attain gold but did manage to get the second and third positions. Hence, during the medal awarding ceremony, they thought it would be a great gesture to show some love to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade who triumphed over all others to reach the top spot.
But this move wasn’t appreciated by NFL superstar from Ravens, Marlon Humphrey who called the move disgusting and utter foolishness.
Taking to his account on X, he shared his sentiments on this matter in detail. He called out both Simone Biles and her teammate for hailing Andrade after she took home gold for her country.
This was Receca’s first gold so both stars thought it would be great to celebrate her little moment of glory. Andrade went through some serious injuries in her career including three ACL tears before she could attain a victory of this magnitude at the Olympics.
She now has a total of six medals from the Olympics in her career. two of which are gold. She similarly took home a gold during the 2021 event in Tokyo.
While many did understand why both star gymnasts engaged in the hailing gesture, others called it a cheap move, considering the world’s eyes were watching and therefore maintaining a strict code of conduct was always needed at such grand sporting events. Do you agree?
