Christina Applegate reportedly refused any changes to the script of her series after her shocking multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
The 50-year-old Hollywood star was diagnosed with MS back in August 2021 as she and the rest of the Dead To Me: Season 3 crew were finishing up the series.
Despite her deteriorating condition, Applegate allegedly turned down all offers to change the script to cater to her needs and insisted on finishing the show “on her terms” as planned.
“We had already shot 50% of the final season by the time she received her diagnosis,” the show’s creator, Liz Feldman, revealed in an interview with Buzzfeed.
“On Dead to Me, we shoot completely out of order. We had shot scenes from all 10 episodes by the time the news came in, and there was no going back.”
The series’ maker added: “We were stuck with the story that we had to tell, but also, that’s the story Christina wanted to tell. She chose to finish.
“We did it on her terms, and nothing in the script changed, really, at all. We did whatever we needed to do to accommodate her in terms of blocking.”
The revelation comes shortly after the beloved actress received her Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
The Bad Moms star appeared at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Walk of Fame barefoot before gracefully accepting her award and delivering an impassioned speech.
“This day means more to me that you could possibly imagine. I don’t say I have friends, I have family. These people take care of me every day of my life, and without them I don’t know what I would do,” she said.
Addressing her 11-year-old daughter, she added: “You are so much more than even you know. You are so beautiful and kind and loving and smart and interesting, and I am blessed every day that I get to wake up and take you to school.
“You are my everything. Thank you for standing by my side through all of this.”
