Terrifying and tragic reports are now speaking about the body retrieved from an icy river that is said to belong to a woman who tried to save a dog from tragedy.
The woman had reportedly fallen into an icy river while trying to save the poor pup as per reports from local media outlets.
Without any hesitation at all, she jumped in, knowing very well what the consequences of her actions would be. And now, rescue teams have said to locate her body, clenching tight to the dog that she was said to be saving.
Her family has sent out heartbreaking tributes, acknowledging her selfless behavior and adding how she did end up dying as a hero.
The tragic ordeal unfolded in Anchorage, Alaska where cops identified the victim as Amanda Richmond Rogers who went on a stroll with her partner, Dr. Brian Rogers.
The pair were believed to be celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary but then all of a sudden, their canine companion fell into the water. Without giving the moment a second thought, Amanda jumped right inside.
One passerby stumbled upon her remains off the North Fork trail on a very somber afternoon. This led to both the cops and emergency responders being called in to better identify the body.
