Constance Wu gave birth to her second child.
The 41-year-old American actress announced the birth of her baby – a son – in a teaser for the PRETTYSMART podcast by Danielle Robay as she opened up about her book Making a Scene.
“Breaking news. Nobody knew I had a son,” Wu, who now shares two children with partner Ryan Kattner, said.
Sharing an old pregnancy photo from February, the actress added: “Bun in the oven. Filipinese baby #2 coming soon.”
The Crazy Rich Asians star also admitted that she dedicated her book to her 2-year-old daughter because the work was completed before the arrival of her son.
Previously, Wu opened up about her experience as a mother of a toddler at the premiere of the hit film Lyle Lyle Crocodile.
At the time, she told E! News that she loved being on family shows at the start of her career and that this is something she hopes to share with her daughter when she grows bigger.
“I started my TV career doing a family show, which was amazing,” she said.
“And I really loved being on that show. And so it’s wonderful to be able to do that again. And now that I have a kid, it’s something I can hopefully share with her.”
She continued: “If she could sit still for more than 10 minutes, which is not yet but hopefully someday soon, she’s only 2.”
Elsewhere, Constance also admitted that she finally feels more like herself after becoming a mother.
“I actually feel like I’m more myself than I’ve ever been because [motherhood] really makes you enjoy the present moment rather than always hustling to be someone or get somewhere or do something,” the author of Making a Scene expressed.
“You get to enjoy your daughter trying a strawberry for the first time and truly it’s beautiful.”
