The pilot of the helicopter that went down into the Hudson River in New York City had made a chilling radio call to the base, moments before the vehicle plunged into the Hudson River.

The incident killed a family of five who were celebrating their daughter’s birthday and the helicopter’s pilot, who was identified as a Navy SEAL who had just moved into the city with his wife to fulfill his aviation goals.

Agustin Escobar was the head of the Spanish division of the tech giant firm Siemens. He and his wife, with the couple’s three kids, were killed in the tragedy.

The tragedy took place at about 3:15 pm on Thursday near the Jersey side of the Hudson River, just off the tip of Lower Manhattan.

Calls to the emergency services were received at nearly 3:17 pm, which is just 17 minutes after it took off from downtown Manhattan.

Michael Roth, who owns the New York Helicopter that provided the tour and chopper, said the vehicle needed fuel.

Now, the mystery surrounds the fact that why did the pilot fly the chopper when the fuel stores were so low.

The head of the investigation shared how the exact cause of the crash may take months before a final conclusion is made. Investigations are continuing on this front.

The pilot’s chilling audio shared how he was landing back and that he needed fuel. It would take him three minutes to arrive, but 20 minutes later, he didn’t arrive, the company shared.
