Shocking and tragic reports have been received about a commuter bus left dangling from a bridge that collapsed this Friday morning in Pittsburgh, moments before President Biden’s visit.
According to local media outlets, rescuers rushed to the scene with paramedics to form a long human chain to save four people that were present inside the vehicle, after the bus was hanging from the edge of the collapsed bridge.
Terrifying images from the image have recently been released by local media outlets which show the scary situation featuring the bus that had a total of three passengers and one bus driver on board.
The vehicle was perched in an upward direction on the bridge’s edge as many held their breath after seeing the jaw-dropping severity of the incident.
Reports spoke about how the rescuers rappelled about 150 ft to assist with the urgent rescue.
The giant two-lane span came crashing down abruptly as officials identified the location to be Forbes Avenue, right over Fern Hollow Creek in Frick Park.
Meanwhile, the exact time of the incident was identified to be about 7 am in the morning, when the bridge collapsed taking along with it several vehicles that happened to be present on it at that time.
At the moment, casualties are being calculated as authorities claim that at least 10 people have suffered minor injuries but there are yet to be any fatalities recorded.
The injured victims were rushed on an urgent basis by paramedics to a nearby hosptial.
On the other hand, shocking reports have revealed how President Joe Biden was just about to visit the city to overview his adminstration’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which includes all types of bridge maintenance.
Current reports from the White House have stated how the President’s scheduled visit will continue as planned as he is reported to appear just two miles away from where the incident took place this early morning.
