The Crumbleys were declared fugitives on Friday after failing to meet the deadline to turn themselves in to face their arraignment. On the following day, the parents of school shooter Ethan Crumbley were arrested in Detroit after taking refuge in an art studio owned by 65-year-old Andrzej Sikora.

Dass also insisted that Sikora knew the couple but “not well” and that he “did not really know what was going on.” The attorney further claimed that Sikora wasn’t aware there were active warrants for their arrest.

As of this writing, Sikora is not facing any charges.

“Mr. Sikora fully cooperated and answered all of law enforcement’s questions. Mr. Sikora did not assist the Crumbleys in evading law enforcement, did not know there was a warrant for their arrest, and did not know they were at his art studio at the time of their arrest,” Dass said.

“He has not been charged with any crime, and will continue to assist members of law enforcement in their pursuit of justice.”
