Former US President Barack Obama was seen opening up about his reaction to daughter Malia.
The never-before-seen discussion surrounding his daughter’s choice to drop her famous last name while working to make a name in the professional world.
She’s starting her own directorial debut and as per sources, she wants nothing to do with her dad’s fame and success as the country’s former head of state.
Instead, insiders revealed how his daughter wants a clear start that would hide her links from her parents who are well-known personalities.
During a recent episode of a podcast that was published on Tuesday, Barack Obama shared how Malia would prefer to drop her dad’s name and he was okay with that.
He understands that her intentions are clear and she is coming from a great space. “It does not mean she is not my daughter. It just means that she is willing to work hard and work her way to the top, without links”- he continued.
Obama added how he’s so proud as a father that his own daughter is now entering the world of filmmaking and debuting as a director. It’s always been something she’s wanted and to see it happen before his eyes is great, Obama added.
Her first movie went to the Sundance and other fancy film festivals which Obama says speaks volumes of her talent.
