After two flights from Mexico were diverted to another airport in Alabama without customs, passengers were left with no choice but to spend the night inside the plane on the tarmac.

The two Delta flights included Flight 1828 from Cabo San Lucas and Flight 599 from Mexico City, which were redirected from their origins of Atlanta to Montgomery Regional Airport due to weather hazards on Thursday.

However, the Montgomery Airport reportedly has no customs and does which means it couldn’t facilitate the international travelers on board the plane.

This meant nearly 300 Delta passengers remained on board the planes on the tarmac all night.

A spokesperson for the company mentioned how Delta is sincerely apologetic over what happened, but had little it could do as the weather was unpredictable and it couldn’t risk flying in such conditions.

‘We are trying our best to reach out to all customers for a possible refund on their bookings’- the company shared.

Passengers were held on board until 5 am in the morning, leading to chaos, fury, and just a very tense atmosphere as many vowed to never fly the airline carrier again due to poor customer service and a lack of planning and organization from their end.
