Actor Johnny Depp sure does know how to keep his fans on their toes.

The star was seen portraying an unrecognizable appeal as he began shooting for his upcoming new movie role.

Lionsgate shared on Monday, April 14, that there is a production underway in Spain on Day Drinker, where the movie is directed by Marc Webb starring Depp, Penelope Cruz, and Madelyn Cline.

The first image of Depp in character shows the Oscar nominee holding a drink in his hand as he looks ominously off camera.

Depp, 61, is playing the role of a mysterious guest who gets on board a private boat that crosses paths with a bartender on the boat.

This is played by the Glass Onion star Cline. As per the synopsis, the pair find themselves entwined with a criminal figure and linked in ways that no one saw coming.

The Day Drinker cast also includes the likes of Manu Ríos, Juan Diego Botto, Aron Piper, and Anika Boyle.

Webb shared in a recent statement how he’s so excited to begin production, but fans couldn’t take their eyes off Johnny Depp, who looks miles apart from his real self. ‘We are in a beautiful location with a fantastic crew and a thrilling, ferocious story to explain’- he shared.
