The firefighter shared what Diana said, right before she passed away in the car crash that took her life and her partner Dodi Fayed.
The incident arose in the French capital city of Paris when the car that Diana was in tried to flee from the attention of the press and paparazzi.
Also present in the Mercedes Benz 280 Saloon was Diana’s partner Dodi Fayed, her bodyguard, and her driver.
While her bodyguard did manage to barely make it out alive, Diana, Dodi, and the driver passed away after the horrific crash. Sad details emerged after the crash including how the driver was intoxicated and driving four times over the legal limit for alcohol consumption.
Moments after the crash, emergency crews were dispatched to try and rescue those injured, and amongst those were firefighter Xavier Gourmelon.
He explained during one of the shows that paid tribute to Diana that she looked at him and said, ‘Oh my God, what has happened?’ He explained how she appeared agitated before losing consciousness and falling into a coma. He tried to reassure her that they were taking care of it but she did not reply. He also explained that he had no idea that he was speaking to the Princess herself, it was only later that he found out the story.
