Fans have expressed concerns for DJ Khaled after the rapper complained about “so much pain” following a surfing accident.
The 47-year-old musician and producer took his followers by surprise as he revealed he was involved in a painful accident while surfing in Miami, Florida, over the weekend.
According to the rapper, he was left in a lot of pain after falling into the water while trying to stand up on his surfboard.
“I actually have the footage of me falling, flying through the sky, hitting the board on my rib and bellyflopping in the water,” the Staying Alive hitmaker explained.
Besides sharing the awkward clip showing him falling off his surfing board and hitting the water, Khaled also shared footage showing him getting a therapeutic massage to recover from his injuries.
“I called a doctor, he’s gonna come later on this evening, just to make sure it ain’t nothing serious. My masseuse is saying it’s just the muscle. She feels the muscle really irritated and disturbed in that area,” he said in his video while getting a massage.
Two days after the surfing accident, DJ Khaled also underwent an X-ray to ensure nothing was broken inside after having trouble sleeping at night.
“I’ve been in pain – I’m hoping it’s just a bruised muscle,” he said.
In the latest update, Khaled confirmed his injury was, fortunately, likely nothing more than just a “big, real bad bruise.” He also expressed hopes for making a swift recovery so that he can return to playing golf on a daily basis.
Previously, in 2017, the musician got involved in another similar accident after falling into the water while water skiing.
“The key is don’t panic. This ain’t no joke … I ain’t panicking. I just gotta figure it out. In life, there is road blocks. I am stuck in a tree in the ocean,” he said at the time after suffering lacerations to his body from contact with tree branches floating in the water.
