Terrifying reports are speaking about a bird strike that may have led to the uneventful disaster of a South Korean passenger plane crashing and killing all passengers all board.
Only two crew members were miraculously pulled out alive, as revealed by sources from local media outlets. The country has declared a seven-day mourning after the tragic news arose during the early morning hours of Sunday.
The doomed flight was warned about a bird strike before making the landing and exploding into a giant fireball that resulted in the death of 179 people.
The Jeju Air flight was carrying 175 passengers and six crew members. The flight was returning from Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok when the horror arose at the Muan International Airport in South Korea.
Sparks were seen coming out from the 15-year-old Boeing 737-800 as it belly-landed and skidded off the runway and rammed into the airport’s concrete wall.
Horror footage shared the exact moment when the plane was torn apart while erupting into a giant ball of flames. As per the country’s Transport Ministry, the control tower warned the ill-fated plane’s pilot about a bird striking before the deadly disaster arose.
Soon after that, a burst of fire was seen coming out from the plane’s right jet engine showing the moment that the bird hit it.
That is what is believed to have caused the plane’s landing gear to malfunction. Two crew members, one male and one female were pulled out alive from the tail section of the burning plane.
