One restaurant has managed to startle plenty of customers after introducing a controversial dress code for entry.

What comes to your mind when you think of dress codes at famous dining places? Well, for most people, it usually had to do with formal attire. But not in this case.

This particular restaurant is breaking all the norms with a very controversial dress code. And that means only those without tattoos, jewelry, and designer clothing will be allowed to enter and dine in.

In case you’re wondering why, well, it has to do with one simple fact. They are trying their best to crackdown against people who intimidate others.

A note was put on the front gate of the restaurant and since then, it has managed to go viral for obvious reasons.

This particular restaurant can be found in Double Bay, Sydney and it claims to inform its customers about the strict dress code from the start to avoid any inconvenience later.

“We don’t want people with visible tattoos, designer labeled clothing, and those who choose to wear heavy jewelry”- the sign read outside.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph recently, Poata Okeroa who is the eatery’s co-licensee stated how the dining place values each and every one of its clients and customers as well as the community’s stakeholders. Moreover, they feel that they’re just making sure that people are aware of a dress policy that will actually discourage people from appearing in an intimidating manner.

The restaurant is known for celebrating Middle Eastern cuisine and culture and now the venue that turns into a club during the evening hopes people will appreciate their gesture because they believe it’s great for the community as a whole.
