A secondary school has asked young pupils to dress in drag attire and the reaction from parents is mindblowing.
Sources from local media outlets were quick to speak about how many parents were losing their cool when they received a notice from their sons’ and daughters’ schools to wear drag attire.
Meanwhile, others were quick to mention how they were forced to oblige and were told that all the pupils in attendance would be required to don colorful and fun attire, including full-blown drag. But that did not sit well with many people.
And if that drama was not enough, they were even told that the kids would be getting a lecture from a famous and controversial presenter who works as a real-life drag queen.
The news comes in time for Pride Month and the school says they’re just trying to celebrate the theme of inclusivity.
“We just want all the students to wear something colorful and rainbow. It’s going to be great to see them participate in Global Pride Month”- the letter went on to mention.
Clearly, this is not something that many people were prepared for by miles. So many parents claim they’ve had enough and seen enough and the last thing on their minds is watching pupils be led astray in this direction.
The children in question are said to be as young as 11 and some are even below this age bracket which makes the parents all the more concerned as it’s easy to influence younger minds.
The drag queen speaker is scheduled to speak to the young students about mental health and homophobia and that has more parents worried. It just does not make sense to them and they’re calling out Derbyshire’s New Mills School.
The date announced so far is June 16 and parents have been told to mark their calendars.
