Princess Kate Middleton has chosen to break her silence after the controversial ‘edited photo’ post that was released yesterday in honor of Mother’s Day.
The future queen admitted to how the image was edited in a manner that gave rise to a whole array of speculations about it being digitally altered.
Many wondered whether or not the Princess was alright as not only was her husband and the Prince of Wales missing but her fingers did not feature any wedding rings either.
Last night, we saw some of the world’s biggest picture agencies mention to the Palace how Kate and her kids looked like they were edited in the picture and therefore the image was indeed manipulated.
This included names such as The Associated Press, Reuters, AFP, Getty Images, and more. They all rolled out separate ‘kill notices’ after being criticized for promoting fake content online. They even had to get rid of the images from their respective databases.
Kate’s statement published on social media included: “I apologize for all the confusion that this one picture did create. I do like to experiment with editing like many other amateur photographers and I didn’t realize it would lead to this. I hope everyone celebrating had a great Mother’s Day!”
