“I just wanted to say that the past 11 days have been really tough for everyone,” the 64-year-old said.

“Everyone is in pain and trying to make sense of it, and we’ll never make sense of it. And the holidays are hard, I think, anyway.”

Ellen went on to say that the best thing to honor tWitch would likely be to “laugh” and “hug each other” while playing games, dancing, and singing.

“That’s the way we honor him. As we do the things that he loved to do. Which is dancing. He loved music. He loved games. So we do that,” she added.

“And I know it seems hard, it seems impossible. But that’s how we honor him.”

The TV host further encouraged people to love each other and “check in on people” close to us to see how they are doing.

“Happy holidays everybody,” Ellen concluded. “You know it’s not a happy holiday but he was true light.”

Ellen’s video tribute comes shortly after Stephen’s wife, Allison, released a heartbreaking statement confirming her husband’s death.

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” she told People.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”
