Incoming president Donald Trump is all set to announce the end of birthday citizenship to the kids of illegal immigrants, sources have confirmed.
This means it is an executive order that will be passed on his first day in office, his new White House officials did confirm.
The federal government will no longer recognize the immediate citizenship of kids of illegal immigrants born in the USA on a prospective basis.
Trump also discussed ending birthright citizenship during his campaign trial but the action might raise a lot of legal questions, experts shared.
As stated in the 14th Amendment, all people born or naturalized in the US and subject to jurisdiction are citizens of the country and the state where they reside.
The upcoming executive order is just one of the hundreds of executive orders that are set to come into place shortly, after the oath-taking ceremony.
Trump has shared time and time again that many of the country’s problems have to do with a major threat to national security and public safety, thanks to illegal migrants who he says should be a zero-tolerance issue.
