The referee from the FIFA World Cup final has gone about making a startling confession linked to the final match between France and Argentina.
The controversial decision of allotting goals to Argentina was a subject of much debate after the team was crowned the champions for this year’s tournament.
The referee confirmed that he did make an error that had nearly 200,000 fans around the globe in awe. A new petition to rename the winner of the FIFA world cup tournament was also making the rounds and it’s just awful as to what was going on here.
The referee who goes by the name Szymon Marciniak says a mistake was made and he takes full responsibility for it. But he never said that the mistake would have altered the match’s final result or perhaps even recrown another winner.

People felt that the initial two goals could have been avoided. But that did not happen. And neither was that a part of the mistake the referee claims to have made.
Instead, the official who hails from Poland says he should have allowed for a counterattack to flow in when Argentina opted to foul a player from the opponent’s side.
All that he gave was a free kick to the French and that’s the mistake he feels could have been rectified or perhaps thought about more clearly and carefully.

“It’s hard when you’re dealing with a game like this. I do take such a mistake in the dark. But I am happy and proud that there were no major errors made during the final”- he ended up concluding.
