The final autopsy results for Gene Hackman detailed more on the beloved Oscar-winning star’s extensive medical history two months after he and his wife were found dead inside their residence.

Hackman had a mega history of congestive health failure and severe chronic hypertensive changes to his kidneys. He also had a biventricular pacemaker since April 2019 and neurodegenerative features consistent with Alzheimer’s Disease as per an autopsy.

He even had a bi-ventricular pacemaker since April of 2019, and neurodegenerative features that were consistent with Alzheimer’s as per the autopsy.

The autopsy showed that he had a serious condition of the heart, and his coronary artery had stents put inside as well as a bypass graft.

Remote myocardial infarctions were present this whole time, and they involved the left ventricular free wall and septum, which were quite large.

As per the examination data of the brain, the microscopic changes were indicative of Alzheimer’s Disease. He did test negative for the Hantavirus, which is the rat-borne disease that reportedly killed his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

Police have since then shared how Arakawa passed away on February 12 after suffering from serious respiratory symptoms caused by the rare but deadly virus that is passed on through rodent saliva, urine, and feces.
