Johnny Depp made huge headlines yesterday after an inside source mentioned to a local entertainment magazine in Australia how the celeb was in the talks of entering into a new deal with Disney.
The news spread like wildfire on social media where so many people couldn’t handle the excitement of seeing Depp return to the big screens again in the leading role of Captain Jack Sparrow.
If indeed the alleged deal was true, Johnny Depp would be signing a mega $300 million deal but according to the celeb’s representatives, that is not happening anytime soon.
As was as that may sound, it’s the truth and the news has really left many in a state of shock and disappointment.
Johnny Depp will not be returning to Disney’s leading Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. And that does make sense because the actor had previously mentioned how he had no intention of doing so before his trial concluded.
But still, there was always a tiny glimmer of hope in fans’ hearts that it could well be true. And now that the hope has diminished, it’s just a plain state of heartbreaking to some.
“This is completely made up and baseless. There is no truth on this matter”- the actor’s representative mentioned yesterday while speaking to NBC during an interview.
There was always a possibility that it could happen, the rep revealed but it’s not true. And the rumors held strong for as long as the trial continued to carry on.
We saw the famous defamation trial continue and with a wonderful ending for Depp and his legal team, people just automatically assumed that Depp would be willing to return back. But that is not the case.
As Depp has mentioned in his own words when asked if he was willing to give it a shot by returning back to Disney amid rumors of a possible patch-up, the celeb stated: “If Disney came to you with $300 million dollars and a million alpacas, there would be nothing on this planet that would make me go back to working with them!” Hence, the case was dismissed!
