The popular character of the show, Eric Dane who played the character of Mc Steamy, thanks to his good looks, is now breaking his silence on why he was forced to exit the show.
The 51-year-old Euphoria star says he enjoyed being a part of the long-running ABC series after starring as the leading Mark Sloan character.
Despite being an integral member for a whopping six seasons, from 2006 to 2012, he was forced to exit.
“I did not leave so much as I think I was left go”- the star went on to mention while speaking during a leading podcast.
He says getting the ‘boot’ was his worst nightmare and the fact that it was true had him stunned.
He admitted that he was struggling with alcohol abuse, it was hard for him to let all the drinking go as it was an addiction.
People on set noticed that and soon, the producers had no choice but to show him the door. “I was struggling but the extent to which it may have appeared to some was not true. I know there were other reasons behind it. I believe the finances were less so it was easy to pick on me”- the star added.
The star says that over a short period, his popularity meant that he would not come cheap and it was an added burden for the network.
