Fierce fighting has taken center stage in Ukraine, forcing innocent civilians to flee for cover as gunfire and explosions fill the air.
Exclusive images revealed by media outlets showed one terrified grandmother making a run for it after being trapped in her apartment’s basement for several days.
Loud sounds of daunting explosions filled the air as civilians reveal the true horrors of what it’s like living in a nation that’s battling with war.
The elderly citizen was identified as Tatiana Fik who reportedly fled from her basement to attain cover.
“They’ve shattered our peaceful life. There is nowhere to go, even our towns aren’t safe anymore”- mentioned a number of civilians who claim life has come to an absolute standstill with the constant fear of death in the air.
The town is just 25 miles away from the border with Russia and that is what makes this incident all the scarier, adding another frightened local.
No matter how hard they tried, no citizen was truly prepared for war because the current circumstances are absolutely unpredictable.
“One moment there is intense gunfire, shelling, and explosions. The next minute, we’re hearing nothing, it’s almost so deceiving”- the civilians mentioned.
For food, so many citizens have preserved vegetables in racks and that is what they’re using to feed themselves in this testing time of conflict.
So many other citizens have shed light on what life is like while living underground as Russian and Ukrainian forces battle it out above innocent people’s heads.
With the whole city being blocked and two nations at constant war, living in a basement is the only and safest option left for so many people.
“It’s just so cold, dark, dusty. They are constantly fighting with big noises. We quickly make a move for it, whenever we hear those large sounds”- mentioned another helpless civilian.
