The gunman responsible for opening fire at the Florida State University campus in Tallahassee was unmasked as the son of Leon County Deputy Sheriff, local authorities have confirmed.
He was identified as 20 year 20-year-old Phoenix Ikner who reportedly accessed one of the weapons at his home that was said to belong to his mother.

The gun was confiscated by the cops. So far, two people have been killed, and five others are said to be in a state of serious injury at the hospital.
Authorities shared more details on the matter during a recent press conference to share more updates about the crime scene taking place. All classes were cancelled on Friday as per the authorities.

The tragic incident arose at about midday on Thursday after a fair-haired gunman arrived in his orange colored Hummer and started to blindly fire at everyone in his sight.
As per witnesses, nearly 15 rounds were fired. The campus was reportedly on lockdown during afternoon hours, and that’s when the cops found a gray sedan with weapons inside that could be linked to the shooting. Now it’s not clear if it had direct links to the orange Hummer witnesses found, as per the Daily Mail.
