The tragic news was confirmed by Keisha and Forest’s daughter, 25-year-old True Whitaker, who branded her mom as “the most beautiful woman in the world” in her statement.

While no cause of death was immediately provided, a source told DailyMail.com that Nash-Whitaker had spent the last few months in and out of the hospital over intestinal issues.

The death comes after her years-long battle with anorexia.

“Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond. The most beautiful woman in the world… thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart,” True wrote as she shared a photo of her mother along with her tribute.

Forest and Keisha tied the knot in 1996. They share two daughters including True, 25, and Sonnet, 27. In 2016, the couple parted ways in an amicable divorce.

“They remained friends and their divorce was amicable, but because Whitaker said his wife was ‘kind, funny, bright and outgoing as well as a good mother to their children,’ there was no need to not remain friendly,” a source said.

It is believed that Keisha had battled anorexia for at least ten years, whereas Dr. Fred Pescatore previously warned that her drastic weight loss could lead to health problems.

“She is most likely about 110 pounds now but was 135 just a few years ago. Or even she could be down to 105 pounds from 140 pounds,” he said back in 2014.

“She runs the risk of premature aging of her heart and bones. Most importantly, going up and down like this wreaks havoc on the metabolism and makes it increasingly difficult to continue to stay thin without more and more effort. Possibly to the point of starvation and pills.”
