Kurt Cobain’s daughter has married Tony Hawk’s son in a lavish Los Angeles ceremony.
Frances Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk are officially married following an October 7 wedding that came a month after the pair obtained a marriage license from San Diego County.
According to the reports, the wedding was attended by Michael Stipe, the lead vocal of alternative rock band R.E.M., who acted as the couple’s wedding celebrant.
While Frances has now entered her second marriage, this is the first time Riley has exchanged vows.
The couple were previously rumored to be dating in early 2021 after photos of them out on a date went viral on social media causing a frenzy among the fans of their iconic parents.
“Daughter of the most nineties dude ever is dating the son of the second most nineties dude ever,” someone wrote on Reddit at the time.
“If they had a child, their grandparents would be two of the largest icons from the nineties. Insane,” another agreed.
Frances’ relationship with Riley comes after her bitter divorce from Isaiah Silva in 2016.
Cobain filed for divorce after just two years of marriage, whereas the couple then got into a dispute involving the possession of one of Kurt Cobain’s iconic guitars.
After Silva was granted possession of the guitar upon the settlement of the divorce, Frances’ mother, Courtney Love, launched a lawsuit against her daughter’s ex and demanded he undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
“Kurt would not want this and Courtney will not allow any of it. Frances and the family are prepared to fight with a fury of unprecedented legal force and they will prevail,” an insider told Page Six.
They went on to say that Silva has a “frightening obsession” with Kurt Cobain and believes that he is his “reincarnation.”
The legal battle continues.
Congratulations to Riley and Frances on the good news!
