The French explorer who died in the OceanGate expedition to see the Titanic wreckage was planning a Broadway musical about Titanic before the tragedy.
77-year-old Paul-Henri Nargeolet was a renowned French submersible pilot, maritime expert, and Titanic expert who was among five people that died aboard Titan when the sub imploded some 12,000 feet underwater on Sunday.
It was now revealed that the devoted explorer made several trips to the wreckage at the bottom of the Atlantic and that he felt “dark energy” surrounding the place.
Director Michel Pascal also confirmed that he and Nargeolet worked on a Broadway musical about Titanic that would focus on “premonitions” and “true stories” related to the iconic ship’s demise in 1912.
“He is a very important friend of mine, for 25 years. I met him in Paris in 1997, and he was my supervisor,” Pascal said.
“My work was dedicated to the premonitions around the Titanic, there are so many true premonition stories surrounding the ship. PH he is very spiritual as well as a scientist. We are very connected, and we work so well together. He invited me to go down with him, but I told him no, I was too scared.
“Directly, I did not talk with him before he went on the Titan, but he always said that diving was very dangerous and you had to be aware. I am sure he had a premonition that something bad would happen, and he didn’t feel good to go on the sub.”
Speaking of his upcoming project with Nargeolet, Pascal continued:
“We wanted to create a new documentary about the true premonitions surrounding the ship, and a Broadway musical. He wanted to show his respect for the souls on the ship. He said it had an amazing and special dark energy.”
Our thoughts remain with Paul-Henri’s loved ones during this challenging time.
