Just when you think size does not matter comes a real-life incident at this year’s Olympics that proves otherwise.
French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati went viral after his giant bulge restrained him from being cut out of this year’s Olympics.
The 21-year-old sportsman vaulted himself in the air but his package, which was very much on display, thanks to the skin-tight uniform, had people talking. It slammed against the crossbar and caused him to crash down to the ground.
This means his dreams of seeing or winning an Olympic medal at this year’s event went down the drain on Saturday.
Social media was abuzz and many saw the incident on replay hundreds of times, causing it to go viral across the board.
This botched attempt didn’t disqualify him automatically but he managed to get a score of just 5.6 which was too low to enable him to move on. If that’s not a devastating blow then we’re not quite sure what is.
Fans saw the bizarre episode getting played on replayed and in slow motion, causing it to give rise to so many memes. This was to help with the qualifier for the track and field event and it immediately took to the internet with plenty of jokes related to it.
