Melinda French Gates recently showed up for an exclusive interview with ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday.
This is where she was seen promoting her latest book, dubbed The Next Day. During that discussion, she mentioned several topics related to her memoir.
The 60-year-old philanthropist explained why she decided to address her separation from Bill Gates despite being a private person.
‘It was important because to be my most authentic self is most important sometimes!’- she continued while speaking about her painful separation from the Microsoft co-founder.
She also shared how divorce is not only hard on the people going through it but also on their loved ones. ‘I don’t wish this on anybody because what I went through, only I know!’- she explained.
She also shared how so many families go through so much silently but aren’t given the right kind of credit in this regard. ‘It’s a huge transition, and it was so painful for me. I did end up learning some lessons, and there was a lot of growth’- she continued while explaining the tragic event.
Melinda also shared how she knows that her life is not over yet and there’s still a lot to learn and explore. A lot of things bring her joy in life, and while she reflects on it all right now, she’s grateful for how much stronger she’s become with time.
