The UN General Assembly has voted 141 to 5 which has reportedly backed up a resolution that demands Russia leave Ukraine with immediate effect.
The decision was reportedly taken on Wednesday when nations like Russia, Syria, Eritrea, Belarus, and North Korea opted to vote against the resolution that states how the invasion is unjustified.
While many people put forward the claim that such resolutions are non-binding, they are deemed to hold great significance politically.
And that means, they will do great justice at isolating Russia from the rest of the world, explained reports.
The news comes on the third day of the very rare and historic session that was called upon on an emergency basis.
UN’s General Assembly stated how it has been rebuking Moscow on an urgent basis to try and get it to stop sending out more and more Russian troops against Ukraine.
It is clear now to the world that Russia has been isolated from the world and very few of its own allies are sticking by its side.
Moreover, with the economy breaking down to bits and pieces, it’s no surprise that the sanctions put up by the West are now doing great damage as we speak.
But at the same time, it was also quite interesting to note how several countries opted to practice abstinence from voting and that includes India, China, amongst 35 others.
Meanwhile, the US Ambassador to the UN explained how this was definitely one historic and overwhelming episode of votes to witness and she was glad to have been a part of those who managed to witness it.
Many are worried as Russia has now opted to move in cluster bombs and high-tech weaponry that is known to cause mass destruction with great precision.
