George Clooney is reportedly selling his iconic Lake Como villa after owning the building for two decades.
Italian magazine Oggie revealed that the 62-year-old Hollywood stud listed the $100 million property with an Italian agency based in Milan.
While false reports claiming the actor was selling his villa circulated the internet in the past, established real estate agent Yasemin Baysal confirmed the rumors were true this time.
Another source with knowledge on the matter also confirmed the news as legitimate, People reported.
“It must be said that over and above being a very good actor and investor, he’s also an extremely shrewd investor, given that he bought the villa for 10 million euros,” an insider said.
Clooney previously bought the prestigious home from the Heinz family in 2002. After his presence at Lake Como, the popularity of the region soared and the prices of real estate doubled in a matter of years.
The villa, also known as Villa Oleandra, boasts 25 rooms and is considered one of the largest private homes at Lake Como. It is currently estimated to be worth around $100 million by the WSJ.
Besides his multi-million mansion, Clooney has ties of a more sentimental nature to the lake in the quiet Italian region of Lombardy.
In 2013, Clooney met his now-wife-of-ten-years Amal Clooney after she attended his dinner party with their mutual friends.
“I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart,” the actor said of his partner back in 2017.
