Ghislaine Maxwell’s brother has referred to his convicted sister as a woman of her word, adding how she will not trade any names to have her sentence reduced.
According to local media reports, Ian Maxwell was quick to announce how his sister was not a rat and despite the many rumors running around, she would never speak out names as a means of trading off her current jail sentence.
Ghislaine Maxwell was termed guilty last week by a jury who entered into their sixth day of deliberations.
Speaking to the Sunday Times of London recently, Ghislaine’s brother revealed how there were certainly no plea bargain offers made or received before the trial’s verdict and he hoped that stance would be maintained, even after the verdict.
“The prosecution confirmed no plea bargain offers were made or received,” he stated, “I hope and expect that position to be maintained,” he went on to state.
Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of luring young girls into human trafficking so they could be abused by her pal Jeffrey Epstein, as revealed by local media outlets. As many await her exact jail sentence, she could face up to 40 years behind bars and that could well mean that she would die in prison.
In the same way, Ian Maxwell spoke about how his sister was understandably subdued by the conviction at hand, adding how she wished to take the stand herself to give her side of the story but just couldn’t because her lawyers did not allow her too.
Maxwell’s side of lawyers felt that it just wasn’t the right decision, in fact, they termed it as a risky move.
