The World Health Organization has gone about sounding the highest alarm for monkeypox as the disease spreads to more than 70 different nations around the globe.
According to sources from local media reports, the WHO is ringing the bell and referring to monkeypox as a huge global health emergency due to its widespread presence that has taken place and is currently taking place at so many different destinations.
Meanwhile, sources also spoke about how the sudden declaration of the disease by the WHO as a health crisis could also potentially lead to a major investment in terms of treating the condition.
In case you weren’t already aware, the WHO has published some alarming statistics on the matter, where a staggering 15,000 individuals have been infected as confirmed by the CDC recently.
As far as the cause for the sudden surge in the infections is concerned, well, authorities believe it’s related to how the infection was being ignored at the start, and with time, it continue to evolve and present itself as a serious pathogen and invader where cases involving kids have also arisen.
Sources revealed how this is the highest level of alert that could possibly come at this time from the WHO and that’s why the issue can’t be taken lightly.
A total of 16.500 cases have been reported recently and that’s just key proof too so many people out there today that more devastation is expected if things aren’t curbed right now, the report revealed.
“In short, it can be seen as an outbreak being reported around the world”- the WHO mentioned.
The WHO also explained how the outbreak is taking place through new models of transmission which they’ve got little to no knowledge about and that just makes it so much worse, as elaborated by the WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom on Saturday.
